John Gould, Who is he?

John was born in the Central Valley town of Manteca to Norman and Josie Gould. The Gould family has owned and operated Gould Tax & Business Service, a large Income Tax Preparation service for over 40 years. John has helped the family as a tax preparer 3 months out of every year for over 20 years now. He has a great working knowledge of how legislation effects our working families.

While away from the tax office, John is a full-time Realtor specializing in Business Sales and property transfers, as well as small business SBA lending. With John's tax background and his degree from Humphrey's School of Law in Stockton, California, he has been able to bring great insight to his clients concerning legal and tax matters. He will bring this wealth of knowledge and experience to the California Assembly.

John's blended family consists of five children with his wonderful wife, Jo Anna at his side. Jo Anna adds a totally different insightful dimention to the Gould team. She has worked in the surrounding community at places of distinction such as, The League of Women Voters, The University of California, Davis, The University of California Davis Medical Center, as well as serving our country for ten years in the Army.

John and Jo Anna's oldest daughters, Brianna and Michelle, are both seniors at River City High School in West Sacramento. Alejandra, the adorable 8th grader, attends the local Catholic School, Our Lady of Grace in West Sacramento. Calisse and David Gould live in Arnold, Califonia where they both enjoy mountain life.

John is currently involved in various community-based leadership programs which he is very passionate about. He dedicates up to fifteen hours weekly as a UC Davis Medical Center Chaplain bringing comfort to those who are ill or dying. He has worked with the organization of the National Day of Prayer and The California Family Council, which is becoming a large grassroots effort by concerned families over their voices being ignored in government. John also currently co-hosts a weekly prayer meeting in the State Capital.

John and his family currently work with an outreach church in the Oak Park area of Sacramento on Sundays. The church teaches "Motivation for a Better Life" to those who desparately need encouragement in discouraging times of their life. John and Jo Anna have traveled to 3rd world countries lending a hand where they can. After the Tsunami in February of 2005, they spent two weeks in India refreshing and funding the leaders of the relief efforts. In the winter of that same year, Jo Anna, Michelle and Brianna accompanied John on a private economic development aide mission to The Gambia, West Africa, teaching and helping develop businesses so the local people can begin to feed themselves and afford to put drinking water wells in the local villages.

John enjoys hunting, some fishing, and riding fast motorcycles on and off the race track.
